# Lernaido

> Lernaido is a GDPR-compliant, AI-powered educational homework assistant and guided tutor ("Understand, don't just copy") available on iOS, Android, and web.

## Overview
Lernaido helps students from primary school to Abitur / graduation understand complex assignments step by step. Rather than providing quick cheat-sheet answers, Lernaido acts as an empathetic digital tutor that spots calculation errors, explains formulas and grammar rules, and fosters genuine comprehension.

## Core Capabilities
- **Step-by-Step Problem Solving**: Detailed explanations for math equations, physics formulas, chemistry reaction balance, and foreign language essays.
- **Handwriting & Document OCR**: Advanced recognition of handwritten notes, worksheets, sketches, and printed textbook pages.
- **Pedagogical Error Detection**: Spots where a student made a mistake in their calculation and explains the underlying concept.
- **Curriculum Alignment**: Tailored to educational curriculum standards across German federal states and international school systems.
- **Data Privacy & Security**: DSGVO / GDPR-compliant, servers in the EU, encrypted communication, and no sale of user data.

## Pricing
- **Starter**: free, no credit card. Includes a monthly allowance for homework scans and the AI tutor. The allowance resets every month.
- **Pro**: €9.99/month or €99.99/year. A considerably larger monthly allowance for daily school use, with full access including audio lectures and practice worksheets. Cancel anytime.
- **Fair use**: plans have a monthly allowance instead of a fixed number of uses. How far it reaches depends on what is used (a long audio lecture uses more than a short tutor question). When it is reached, the affected AI feature pauses until the monthly reset; nothing is charged extra. Automated use, shared accounts and resale are not covered and can be limited. Allowances can be adjusted.
